Assembly (First Use)

Agaru Smart and Ultra – User Manual

Applies to: Augment Agaru Smart and Ultra. Use the exact country variant and fitted components. Both have a built-in deck battery. The manufacturer specifies a rear mechanical disc and front eABS; an illustration or translation saying front disc must not be used to select the wrong repair. These instructions do not establish road legality in every country.

Important safety information

  • Wear appropriate protective gear before riding.

  • Use only the original Augment charger.

  • Never open, modify, or disassemble the battery or internal electrical components. Follow only the model-specific assembly and maintenance steps in Augment’s instructions.

  • Do not use a battery that is damaged, leaking, overheating, or otherwise abnormal.

  • Keep the battery away from children and pets.

  • Do not charge the battery in freezing temperatures.

  • Never clean the scooter with a pressure washer.

Controls and buttons

Power and function button

Use the function button as follows:

  • Long press: Turn the scooter on or off.

  • One click: Change the ride mode. The modes are Walk mode (Gear 1), Normal mode (Gear 2), and Sport mode (Gear 3).

  • Two clicks: Show total mileage.

  • Three clicks: Show single-trip mileage.

  • Four clicks: Switch the speed and distance units between kilometers and miles.

  • Five clicks: Set the initial password. To change or cancel the password, press the button five times within five seconds after switching on the scooter.

  • Six clicks: Turn the cruise-control function on or off only where the exact version supports it and it is lawful.

Headlight

Press the headlight button once to switch the headlight on or off.

Turn indicators

  • Press the left-indicator button once to switch the left blinker on or off.

  • Press the right-indicator button once to switch the right blinker on or off.

Throttle

Slowly press the thumb throttle to accelerate. The scooter must already be rolling before the motor engages.

Brake lever

Pull the rear brake lever to slow down or stop.

Cruise control

Cruise control, where supported and lawful: Availability depends on the exact country variant and firmware. On a supported version, the manual describes holding a steady speed for at least six seconds after enabling the function; throttle or brake input exits it. Do not use this as an instruction to activate a prohibited feature or change legal vehicle approval.

LED display symbols and information

The LED display can show:

  • Current speed

  • Speed unit: km/h or mph

  • Ride mode: Gear 1, Gear 2, or Gear 3

  • Battery level

  • Bluetooth status

  • Total or trip mileage; total mileage is marked ODO

  • Headlight status

  • Cruise-control status

  • Fault warning, shown with a wrench symbol

First-use assembly

The term handlebar assembly below refers to the part called the machine head in the original illustrated instructions. The term stem refers to the pole or head tube.

  1. Disengage the rear folding hook by moving the folded front section to the right. Raise the stem to the upright position, then securely close and tighten the stem locking lever.

  2. Firmly connect the white electrical plug between the handlebar assembly and the stem.

  3. Carefully tuck the connected wiring inside the stem. Do not pinch or damage the wire.

  4. Insert the handlebar assembly fully into the top of the stem.

  5. Align the six threaded holes in the handlebar assembly with the six holes in the stem.

  6. Install all six M5 × 12 screws. Tighten them with the wrench supplied in the tool kit until the handlebar assembly is secure and does not wobble.

How to fold the scooter

  1. Rotate the limit block on the handlebar hook 90 degrees clockwise.

  2. Locate the inner section of the folding lever near the base of the stem. Press firmly on the lower end until the upper end rises.

  3. While the upper end is raised, push it clockwise until the folding mechanism opens.

  4. Fold the stem down and angle it slightly to the right.

  5. Slide the front folding hook into the hook on the rear fender.

  6. Rotate the folding-hook limit block 90 degrees counterclockwise until it stops. This secures the scooter in the folded position.

How to ride the Agaru scooter

  1. Wear protective gear.

  2. Turn on the scooter.

  3. Place one foot on the deck and push forward with the other foot.

  4. Once the scooter is rolling, press the throttle gently.

  5. Place both feet on the deck, with your stronger foot toward the rear.

How to turn

  • Turn the handlebar slightly in the direction you want to travel.

  • Lean your body gently in the same direction to maintain balance.

How to slow down and stop

  1. Release the throttle to begin slowing down.

  2. Pull the brake lever to stop.

  3. When the scooter comes to a complete stop, place one foot on the ground.

Battery safety and storage

Always follow these battery rules:

  • Use only the original Augment charger.

  • Keep the battery away from children and pets.

  • Never open or modify the battery.

  • Do not use a battery that is damaged, leaking, overheating, or otherwise abnormal.

  • Do not charge the battery in freezing temperatures.

  • Stored battery: Check at least monthly and recharge according to the model instructions before deep discharge. If deep discharge is known or suspected, stop charging attempts and seek support; do not try revival by prolonged charging, repeated reconnection, heating or external power. Stop use and charging for damage, unusual heat, swelling, leakage or smell.

  • Store the scooter and battery in a dry place.

How to charge the battery

Agaru Smart and Ultra have a built-in battery. Charge it through the scooter’s charging port with the original Augment charger. Do not remove or open the battery.

  1. Turn off the scooter.

  2. Open the rubber charging-port cover.

  3. Confirm that the charging port is clean and dry.

  4. Plug the charger into the wall outlet.

  5. Connect the charger to the scooter’s charging port.

  6. Charger indicator: A red light on the compatible charger normally indicates charging and green usually indicates completion or no charging load. This is different from a red battery or fault symbol on the scooter display. A green light or displayed 100% does not rule out a fault if the scooter cuts out or will not charge.

  7. When charging is complete, disconnect the charger and close the charging-port cover.

Maintenance and cleaning

  • Check cold tires and use the pressure specified for the exact model and tire; do not copy a generic value from another scooter.

  • Clean the scooter only with a soft or microfiber cloth.

  • Never use a pressure washer.

  • Store the scooter and battery in a dry place.

  • Storage checks: Check the battery at least monthly and recharge as directed for the model before it becomes deeply discharged. Do not treat three months as the recommended interval.

  • Do not open or disassemble the battery or internal electrical components yourself. Steering or folding-mechanism repairs beyond these instructions need Augment support.

Loose handlebar or stem

Stop riding and turn the scooter off before checking any looseness. Riding slowly does not make loose steering or an insecure folding latch safe.

If the looseness is at the handlebar-to-stem assembly joint, check the six M5 × 12 assembly screws with the supplied tool, following the First-use assembly section above. Tighten them evenly until the handlebar assembly is secure. Do not overtighten.

If a screw is missing or damaged, the play is in the stem or folding mechanism, the latch will not lock securely, or the looseness remains after the assembly check, do not ride. Contact Augment support for an assessment. Explain where the movement is and what you have already checked; a short photo or video can help if you have not already supplied one. Do not loosen unidentified adjustment screws, force the latch, or add thread-locking adhesive without the matching Augment repair instructions.

Package contents

The package contents must be checked against the confirmed order and packing instructions, especially for a replacement. A typical delivery can include the following; not every replacement contains the same items:

  • Agaru e-scooter

  • Charger

  • User manual

  • Tool kit

If an item is missing or damaged, tell Augment support exactly what it is and reuse details or photos already supplied. The team will review the remedy and any dispatch; reporting a missing part does not confirm a free or immediate replacement.

Video: Agaru Smart folding-latch release. This short demonstration identifies and releases the inner latch. Follow the full folding sequence above. If controlled pressure does not release the latch, stop rather than force or dismantle it and contact Augment support.
